October Events in Rockport

October is a busy month in Rockport. The weather is excellent, and the community is excited for fall and the upcoming holiday season is on the horizon. It’s a great time to be outside, enjoying the beaches and cookouts taking place every week of the month.

Closing Out September

The last week of September is busy with the Coastal Bend Troop Support Event, the LAC Orientation at the Chamber of Commerce, Bingo and the Young Professionals Meeting. The Young Professionals Meeting is a fantastic opportunity for networking and meeting other folks in the business community. The meeting is a chamber event and registering is required in advance. Bingo takes place every week and is a lively and fun way to spend some time with friends.`

The Community Chat and Cheers event is a hoot and it takes place on September 26. The following day has a great Arts event with the Key Allegro: A Vision for Growth exhibit and it lasts for several days. Another great event to consider is Camp Aranzauz’s ZaZu fishing and fun. The Women’s Club of Aransas County also meets on September 30.

First Week of October

October kicks off with the open mic night at the Rialto Theatre and the second day of the month has a networking event at the chamber of commerce. The open mic night is a recurring event as well. The second also has the 12th Luther Una Caja Dove shoot that benefit the HALO-Flight program. This event is a blast and it kicks off the long Texas hunting season for birds, deer and other critters in the area.

The Coastal Bend Troop support also continues as a weekly program. Delivering care packages and working with the strong local military community on a weekly basis is a proud event for Texans in Rockport. The weekly Bingo also continues and the KEY ALLEGRO art exhibit carries over from the end of September. The Women’s Club has weekly meetings through October as well.

The Youth Leadership of Aransas County is running the session #1 ropes course on October 5 and the Rockport-Fulton shopping tournament takes place on the same day. The shopping tournament is a well attended event and is one of the favorites in the community. Jim Booth is displaying Island Art on the 6th and the Gary Mysorski Scholarship Fund has an event on the 7th.

Second Week of Events

Again, the week kicks off with the open mic at the Rialto Theatre. Wednesday the 9th has the networking event, troop support and bingo. The 9th also has the Sea-A-Bration “Hollywood Glam Night” which is quit the party. The Seafair is a 3-day event so prepare for several days of fun at this festival. You can also squeeze in the Fulton Mansion Event with history lessons, culture and storytelling. The Key Allegro art exhibit also continues through this week.

The Chamber of Commerce has an Executive Committee Meeting on October 12th and the Youth Leadership is meeting on the 14th.

Third Week Events

Monday starts off with an Executive Work Group Meeting for the community and Tuesday has an Executive Committee meeting for the Chamber followed by open mic at the Rialto Theatre. The Network Wednesday is happening along with the Troop Support and Bingo. On Thursday the 17th, the Rockport Alzheimer’s Support Group is active.

The big announcement for this week is however the Rockport-Fulton Days. This runs Friday the 18th through Sunday the 20th and draws big crowds. Make a point to visit the booths, eat the food and enjoy this hopping community gathering.

Lastly, an executive committee meeting is taking place on Friday and the Aransas County Leadership is having another ropes course session on Saturday. If art is your game, the Art Loop is happening on Saturday as well.

Closing Out October

The last week of October begins with the VFW Post 3904 monthly business meeting on Monday and the Rialto Theatre has the open mic night on Tuesday. The town also has a general membership meeting on Tuesday. Wednesday begins the LAC Session 2 Community Planning and Awareness event and the regular Wednesday Networking Event is also happening. The Women’s Club is meeting, the Key Allegro event continues and Bingo and the Troop Support are also working on schedule.

Saturday the 26th is a big day with the Fulton Food Truck Festival. Bring your appetite as the best food trucks in the area are serving up hearty dishes. The Rockport-Fulton Chamber Foundation is meeting and the end of the month is highlighted by the Film Festival. The festival begins on Thursday the 31 and continues through Sunday November 3rd.  Before the month closes out, the Chamber also has a Young Professionals Meeting and a Business After Hours event.
